You can't remake perfection.

Ya know, I don't remember ever seeing the end of GI. Did they ever make it off that d?mn island?

kinda.
They were rescued in 1978, after 15 years on the island.
I think it was a tidal wave that was coming and they knew about it, so they lashed the huts together and made a boat. After floating for days, Gilligan decided to cook some fish and accidentally set the thing on fire, which got them spotted by a ?Coast Guard? helicopter.
They had their 15 minutes of fame then went their seperate ways... except Skipper didn't fire Gilligan for some reason.
They had trouble fitting in because things had changed so much while they were gone.
They got together for a reunion and Skipper took them out to finish the interrupted tour, and they got caught in another storm and ended up back on the same island, where they lived happily ever after.
(Tina Louise was the only original who had to be replaced... she wanted too much money.)
(I wonder if this was the first made-for-TV movie?)
I had forgotten that they ended back up on the island.
Tina Louise never wanted to do the show to begin with. She thought it was so stupid that it would only last an episode or two and then she could move on to something else.
